The Ventures Guitar Mania Live in Manila (January 17, 2012)

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Class 2008

The Ventures remain active, recording and touring to the delight of fans around the world. It seems every year holds something new and surprising for them. 2008 marked the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the band, truly a remarkable accomplishment. It also saw their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band celebrates their official 50th Anniversary in 2009, with a special tour in Japan, shows in the US and Canada, and multiple CD releases.

The Ventures are considered by many to be the greatest "surf band". While it is true that The Ventures style and music helped define that musical genre as much as anyone, they are much more than that. Surf is just a subset of what The Ventures are:

AJ Rafael BIO

I was born to play music. I grew up to live for music. I have learned to breathe music. I'm 19 years old and I already feel successful in a sense that I have touched someone else's heart with my music. I only hope to inspire more people to have music in their lives: that's all it's about. Popularity, money, attention, I mean all of that's nice (not that I get much of it), but that's all temporary... music is FOREVER. I am currently attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Please leave some love and check out my videos and my blogs. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this, and listening to my music. I owe you all so much. -aj rafael
