Know more about Eraserheads (E-Heads) Success



Eraserhead, E-Head 90's Filipino Rock Band form by Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro, During 1989 at UP Diliman Campus two college bands were both in search for member, Curfew Band and Sunday School, Curfew which consisted of Buddy, Raimund and Marcus, and ely at the Sunday School. They met when Ely was posted an audition at the school for recruiting a member to join on his band, and then Buddy, Raimund and Marcus showed up. While at the practice audition Buddy and Raimund notice that the sound was not right so they change position, they meet together and group as a band namely "The Eraserhead". 


They start covering music at the beginning and achieve a small success at "The Manila Rock's Club", Lately they found that they are not good in covers, so they start making their own songs. The first song the become popular in their campus is "Pare ko" and the first album was recorded in the garage of Marasigan's Provincial homes in Candelaria Quezon year 1991 and hopping their song at radio stations to heard in public. Sony BMG hired Ely as student copy writer, working at the day and writing  band music at the night. Vic Valenciano BMG A&R Director caught their song, at 1992 Sony BMG sign up the band for three-year record deal.


Having that opportunity E-Heads Started recording their debut single called "Ultramagneticpop" featuring "Pare Ko", "Toyang", "Tindahan ni Aling Nena" and a sentinized version of Pare Ko which called "Walang Hiyang Pare Ko" The Album become smash hits with the song Ligaya, Pare Ko and Toyang, Turning their Album Ultramagneticpop "Sextuple Platinum" sold's 300,000 Album Copies. October 1994, E-Heads release  a follow up album called "Circus" turn up gold in just 30 days with 20,000 copies sold with a success hits song "Kailan", "Magasin", "Alapaap" and "With a Smile" the album eventually turned quintuple platinum with 200,000 album copies sold.


1995 the band was given short acting when they co-started with Joey De Leon on a film by GMA Cinemax Studios now GMA Films. Having a great success with their two albums, "Cutterpillow was launched via a colossal open air attending thousand of fans. E-Heads start making history at the Philippines on 1996 turning Cutterpillow gold, and beginning shot music video for "Ang Huling El Bimbo". 


E-Heads first overseas gig was at "Sentosa Pop Festival in Singapore in March 1997 followed by mini U.S Tour, In September they were at "Radio City Music Hall" in New York to receive the "Converted Moon Man Trophy" for winning MTV Asia Viewer's Choice Award, History's First filipino Artist/Band receiving that award. 1997 to 2000 as part of an international success they traveled "New York, Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, California and Japan" sold's out shows in "Hong Kong, and Dubai.
A huge success for a Filipino Band made success locally, travelling internationally, Showing to the world how talented are Filipinos  !!!
