Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2008: The Ventures

The Ventures has remain active, recording and touring according to the delight of fans around the world, Year 2007 has been good. 2008 has marked The Ventures it as 50th Anniversary. it's a great accomplishment, a lovely and remarkable year to remember.The Best Selling Instrumental Rock Band in The History because they are consider to be the greatest "Surf Band"and define the musical genre as much as anyone according to their style of music. The band is consist of Don Wilson the Co Founder handles Rhythm Guitar, Nokie Edwards on Lead Guitar, Gerry MacGee also on Lead Guitar,Bob Spalding on Lead Guitar and Bass and Leon Taylor on Percussion. According to their biography in 1958, Bob Bogle(Passed away June 14, 2009) and Don Wilson, formed the original music group, The Ventures. The duo was joined a few years later by Nokie Edwards to record "Walk Don't Run". The song hit Billboard's Singles Chart (July 18,1960) and peaked at #2. The band was prilific during the 60's with touring and recording albums.
 An Spectacular beginning, The Ventures joined by Mel Taylor ( Passed away August 11, 1996), Gerry McGee, Leon Taylor and Bob Spalding, Have gone on to help define an often overlooked branch of rock and roll music-Instrumental Rock. The band is credited by many guitar legends as being influence on them. The style of music is certainly unique.
49 years later with record sales approaching 100 million with 14 songs that hit the Singles Charts-with 37 LPs that hit the Album charts with a line up that remains solid, The Venture style of music is very unique and the sound is pure and powerful.
